Cheryl Brody Franklin
VP, Events & Campus Life
Cheryl started her career as an editorial assistant at JANE magazine, where she launched janemag.com. She left JANE for CosmoGirl, where she was the first “hybrid” staffer to work on both the magazine and the website. She later worked as an editor at InStyle.com for 5 years, overseeing partnerships and social media.
She was a blogger for Glamour.com‘s relationship blog, Smitten, and has written for Time Out New York, Allure.com, Luckymag.com and Travel + Leisure, where she was an ASME (American Society of Magazine Editors) intern. She is currently a contributing style editor at People.
3 things to know about her: 1. She went to the S.I. Newhouse school of Public Communications at Syracuse University. 2. Is from Philadelphia, but could live without cheesesteaks. 3. Will never give up her Filofax.
3 things you really didn’t need to know: 1. Her former intern set her up with her husband. 2. She could watch Ina Garten, Giada De Laurentiis and Nigella Lawson all day long; 3. She’s allergic to tuna, so that means no sushi…ever (which is very sad).
