Details Editorial is offering a highly competitive and educational internship in New York City. The web editorial position is an unpaid internship that will provide the student selected with first-hand exposure to web publishing at a major men’s lifestyle brand and will supplement classroom studies. An ideal Details intern candidate is a junior or senior at an accredited US college or university majoring or interested in journalism or writing with a strong interest in the multi-media industry. Successful candidates will have good communication and interpersonal skills as well as an aptitude for writing, researching, and copyediting. Experience with Photoshop, HTML, web publishing programs (TeamSite), and CMS (Moveable Type), as well an understanding of basic SEO and social media best practices are preferred, but they are not a requirement. The web editorial intern will learn from experienced, talented professionals in the web editorial department. Interns will receive real-world, hands-on experience from knowledgeable professionals. Among other things, interns will be trained in all web-publishing programs and social media platforms, have the opportunity to pitch stories for the web, attend meetings and events, and learn what it takes to run a successful site. Interns will have the opportunity to attend seminars and events throughout the semester that will introduce them to various components of the web editorial business. Interns will also have the opportunity to discuss learning objectives with their mentors and other professionals throughout the internship. Qualifications 
In addition to the items discussed above, interns must: • Be currently enrolled in a 2 or 4 year accredited US college or university and eligible to receive academic credit or an academic letter of support for the internship. • Be available to participate in a 12- or 13-week internship from September 9 to December 6 or September 16 to December 13 2013, for approximately 15-20 hours per week during the academic year.
