Talent Fairy Featured Opp: Editorial Assistant at The Week Junior

Hello my talented whippersnappers! Here’s what the Talent Fairy has up her magic sleeve this month. Please apply with resume and cover letter to Apply@thetalentfairy.com. Include “TWJ EA” in your subject line.

Editorial Assistant at The Week Junior

The Week Junior is looking for a crackerjack editorial assistant for the launch team of their new newsmagazine for kids!  You will be working with some of the most talented and experienced magazine editors in the business (see the Talent Fairy Q&A here with the new Deputy Editor) and will be responsible for writing and editing an entire section (See “Your Turn” below). As an EA there will be admin work (natch), like booking meetings and handling writer contracts, but it will be under the guidance and mentorship of an incredible team led by magazine veteran Andrea Barbalich as Editor in Chief. Learn more about the magazine and its spring 2020 launch here. This job is perfect for you if you have one or two editorial internships under your belt, have done a lot of writing and reporting, say for your college paper (news and feature writing = bonus!), and have boundless enthusiasm to roll up your sleeves to create an awesome editorial product for kids! Oh, and didn’t mean to bury the lead, but this is a full-time job with benefits (and six weeks of vacay!) Woot!
