My purse is basically like my security blanket—I could probably live without it, let’s be real, do I want to? I honestly don’t understand how guys live with just a wallet. Where do they put their daily agenda or their snacks? I need room for snacks. So it got me wondering what other ladies carry around in their bags. I reached out to some editors at other magazines to compare which necessities we lug around each day. Enjoy taking a peek inside of the industry’s coolest bags and don’t forget, you can also follow these boss ladies on social media! #networking
Name: Audree López (me!)
Job: Fashion Closet Assistant at Redbook
The bag: My sister bought this for me on a backpacking trip in Italy a few years ago—no brand labels, but it’s such a fun addition to my closet. It’s a unique conversation starter, surprisingly spacious, and it brightens up my usually dark New York wardrobe.
Inside: My Kate Spade planner (I’m a to-do list fanatic), Sharpie pen, Firmoo glasses, Issac Mizrahi phone case, Free People card holder for my metro pass, work ID and Starbucks gift cards, MAC concealer, Rebel lipstick, The Honest Company hand sanitizer spray (way less mess than liquid!), EOS mint lip balm, Altoids (in case I meet my future husband on the subway), and headphones so I can blast J. Biebs without being judged.
What is your bag must-have that you can’t survive a workday without? My phone! I’m on it all day reading the news, checking emails, taking pictures of closet inventory, and researching items—I’d be lost without it.

The bag: Madewell. I use this bag because I’m obsessed with everything wine-colored. Plus my laptop fits snug and the zipper closure makes me feel confident all my belongings are safe when I’m in a crowded subway car.
Inside: Business cards, Mindy Kaling’s Why Not Me?, reading glasses, fun-sized hair spray, headphones, a flash drive, two shades of lipstick (a Palomino bright red and a violet from Anthropologie), a Kate Spade notebook, and hand sanitizer (because public transit is by far the dirtiest thing in New York).
What is your bag must-have that you can’t survive a workday without? My notebook. I’m constantly writing down reminders, story ideas, to-do lists and deadlines.

Name: Alyssa Fiorentino
Job: Social Media Editor at Delish.com
The bag: Coach. This bag seems to go with everything. Either it fits right in with an already dark ensemble or it gives an edgy, chic punch to an outfit with brighter colors. Plus, every girl should own a really nice black bag.
Inside: Kate Spade business card holder, rose gold iPhone 6S, apple headphones, purple iPod nano, Madewell wallet, Madewell keychain with keys, NYX lip gloss, and Anthropologie perfume
What is your bag must-have that you can’t survive a workday without? Headphones!

Name: Kelsey Stiegman
Job: Writer at Seventeen.com
The bag: Tory Burch. I love this bag because it’s big enough to fit a Harry Potter book in, which is usually what I’m reading (just not right now!)
Inside: At-A-Glance day planner, Man Repeller by Leandra Medine, Sandro Paris sunglasses, iPhone 6s, Lilly for Target phone case, Calvin Klein wallet, LA Cosmetics pink matte liquid lipstick, Sugar chapstick, Urban Decay purple liquid lipstick, and Lancome orange lipstick
What is your bag must-have that you can’t survive a workday without? I have to have a book to read on the hour-long train ride to and from work. (This particular book is amazing!) I also can’t survive without at least three different shades of lipstick in my bag. Right now I’m into really weird colors like purple, orange, and black.

Job: Accessories Assistant at Glamour
The bag: Furla. It’s compact, yet fits the essentials I need and use everyday. And best of all, it’s totally on board with the mini trend.
Inside: Glossier lip balm tube, Chanel mascara, Chloe perfume, Chanel powder foundation, NARS concealer, Barneys card wallet, keys with Etienne Aigner key chain, Conde Nast ID, and of course, my iPhone
What is your bag must-have that you can’t survive a workday without? I always need my lip balm and concealer. It’s important to have hydrated lips, especially during the winter. And it’s amazing what a difference concealer makes when applied under your eyes. It instantly brightens up your face, which I definitely need throughout the day.

The bag: Gucci. I love a good vintage bag and I found this one about a year ago. It needed some work when I first got it, so it sat in the back of my closet for a while. It’s perfect now though and I can’t stop using it. I love the deep oxblood color for fall and winter, and the gold hardware gives it a little something extra.”
Inside: Red Chanel Lipstick, Garrett Leight glasses, Blistex Lip Medex, Sally Hansen Nail File, Maybelline Dr. Rescue Lipbalm, Olivia Palermo x Ciate London Lipstick in Praline, Nars Jubilation Blush, iPhone, Carolina Herrera Notebook, Ray-Ban sunnies, Chanel Wallet, Metro Card, Shocking by YSL Mascara and “Caroline” nameplate necklace
What is your bag must-have that you can’t survive a workday without? There are a lot of things, like my phone and and my Blistex. There’s also my “Caroline” necklace, which my parents gave to me when I was a baby. I kept it in my jewelry box for years and never actually wore it until my senior year of college. I now wear it almost every single day. And on mornings when I’m running out the door, I throw it in my bag.
