Alysha Reid is an assistant editor at Everyday Health, where edits articles covering skin health, beauty, and (soon to be) fitness. She also puts out production fires, and considers herself a master champion of content management systems. Her past internships include Time Out New York and BridalGuide.com. She’s also freelanced at RealSimple.com, and has written beauty, lifestyle, celebrity, health, and parenting articles for AOL Black Voices, The Post-Standard, AMBERmag.com, and others. She graduated from Syracuse University with a B.S. in magazine journalism. She fell in love with Ed after attending the Ed2010 Intern Panel, but sealed the deal when Chandra took the time to give her some one-on-one advice (on two separate occasions!)
3 things to know: 1. Her father bought her first magazine ever: It was the October 1999 issue of Seventeen with Leelee Sobieski on the front cover. He left it on the living room coffee table without saying a word. And in a fit of nostalgia, she just bought it on eBay! 2. She’s left-handed, but cuts scissors with her right hand. (Does that count as ambidextrous?) 3. Her favorite color is orange, which happens to be the official color of her beloved New York Knicks and the Syracuse Orange.
3 things you didn’t need to know: 1. When she sees large dogs in the city, she feels sad because she’s afraid that they’re stuck in a shoebox apartment for most of the day. 2. She grew up in Brooklyn, but as a lifelong Knicks fan, sneers at Nets “traitors.” 3. She’s obsessed with vegan cooking/baking, despite being a hardcore omnivore with no plans to change.
