30-Minute Mentors Director
Being the youngest of four girls, (yep, her poor dad!), Brittany Galla was always surrounded by countless magazines. She re-read all of her sisters’ Seventeen and YM magazines and those same issues still sit in neatly-kept piles in her office. Her love for magazines grew more in college when she realized she could actually make a career out of this world she loved. Brittany scored internships at Seventeen and Us Weekly, and after her awesome internships, she graduated and scored her dream job in the tween space at M magazine (which she saw on Ed!). Since then, she worked as an online editor at AOL Music and Us Weekly before going back to Bauer Publishing, where she’s now Editorial Director of J-14 Magazine, QuizFest, Girls’ World and Animal Tales.
3 Things You Might Want to Know: 1. She thinks she was “born” to love mags — her grandma used to love to read all of the tabloid magazines. 2. When she’s stressed, a lemon Snapple is her pick-me-up. 3. She has 7 nephews and 5 nieces who she’s obsessed with.
3 Things You Really Didn’t Need to Know: She and her husband are totally in love with their rescue dog, Bo, a black lab mix. 2. She’s a huge fan of the summer Olympics. 3. As a former gymnast, her childhood trampoline now sits in her northern New Jersey backyard. And yes, she jumps on it every night!
