April 17, 2016 by Ashley Oerman

By Kristin Granero

You likely spend a good amount of your day, week, life in a cubicle or at a desk. So the very least you can do is make that space into a place you want to be for eight (OK, 10) hours a day. From terrarium gardens to zen-inducing chairs, read on for some easy ways to take your workspace from boring to brilliant.

1. Terrarium Garden (above)
Tap into the healing powers of nature at your desk with a plant. This terrarium garden is easy to assemble and low maintenance, so you don’t need to have a green thumb to keep it going. #Win

2. Funky Frames
Add a personal and playful touch to your cubicle by framing pictures of people and places that are important to you with unique frames. The retro vibe of this set from Kate Spade would go great with classic black-and-white prints.

3. Inspirational Calendar
Get your mornings off to a good start with a calendar that fosters healthy and productive thoughts (hopefully, the rest of the day will follow suit). This one sends a positive message 365 days of the year.

5. Comfy-Cool Chair
If you have to remain seated at a desk all day long, you can at least find a chair that won’t leave you feeling like garbage at the end of the day. This balance ball chair from GAIAM promises to improve your posture and spinal alignment. It also helps to strengthen your core, so you won’t need to feel so bad about nights you have to skip the gym.

6. Signature Mug
Make sure everyone knows your name (or at least your first initial) with your own monogrammed coffee mug. These wide-rimmed offerings from Anthropologie can also be used for yogurt parfaits, oatmeal, or a secret stash of candy.

7. Bold Bin
Last, but certainly not least, upgrading your boring plastic trashcan with a more aesthetic alternative can make more of a difference than you might think. This bamboo find from Bed Bath & Beyond is stylish without being over-the-top.
